  • “Practitioner” means a holistic wellness practitioner who signs up to be listed on the Website.

  • “Subscription” means a Practitioner’s paid membership plan.
  • “Subscription Term” means the period the Practitioner selects at signup.

3. What LightCollectiv provides

3.1 LightCollectiv is an online directory and community that connects people seeking holistic wellness with vetted Practitioners. Services include a Practitioner profile and listing, search visibility, social media exposure, booking facilities, community events and content.

3.2 LightCollectiv is not a healthcare provider. Content on the Website is general information, not medical, psychological or professional advice. Holistic therapies do not replace treatment by a registered medical professional.

3.3 Any session or service booked with a Practitioner is an agreement between the Client and that Practitioner. The Practitioner alone is responsible for the services they provide, their qualifications, and their conduct.

4. Practitioner subscriptions

4.1 Plans and prices. Our current plans, prices and term options are listed on our Subscriptions page at https://lightcollectiv.com/subscriptions/. Prices are set in South African Rand (ZAR) and may also be shown in other currencies at checkout. LightCollectiv is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. We may add, change or withdraw plans from time to time. The plan and price you sign up for will apply for your whole Subscription Term and will not be affected by later changes to the page.

4.2 Choosing a term. Practitioners choose their Subscription Term at signup. The Subscription runs for that full term and is billed in advance through Payfast, either monthly or annually, depending on the billing option you choose at signup, unless it ends earlier under clause 4.5, clause 6 or our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

4.3 Approval. All applications are vetted. We may decline an application at our discretion; if we do, any amount paid is refunded in full.

4.4 End of term. We will notify you between 40 and 80 business days before your Subscription Term ends. Unless you tell us otherwise, the Subscription then continues month to month at the current monthly price (or you may choose to renew for another annual term), and you may cancel at any time on one calendar month’s notice.

4.5 Early cancellation by you. Where the Consumer Protection Act applies to you, you may cancel before the end of your Subscription Term by giving us 20 business days’ written notice to shanne@lightcollectiv.com. We may charge a reasonable cancellation fee of one month’s subscription fee, or the total of the fees remaining in your Subscription Term if that is less. No cancellation fee applies within the 7-day cooling-off period. If you paid annually, we will refund the fees for the unused complete months of your Subscription Term, less the cancellation fee.

4.6 Price changes. Prices are fixed for your Subscription Term. Any change after that takes effect only after 30 days’ written notice.

5. LightCollectiv Practitioner Values

Every Practitioner agrees to uphold the values of LightCollectiv, which include:

  • acting with integrity, honesty and respect toward Clients, other Practitioners and LightCollectiv;
  • holding the qualifications, experience and any legally required registrations they claim;
  • not making false or misleading claims, including claims to cure or diagnose medical conditions;
  • putting Client wellbeing and safety first, and respecting Client confidentiality;
  • keeping profile information accurate and up to date;
  • not harassing, discriminating against or exploiting any person; and

6. Removal of a Practitioner

6.1 We reserve the right to remove any Practitioner who does not follow the values of LightCollectiv set out in clause 5.

6.2 Where we believe a Practitioner has breached these values, we will notify them in writing, explain the concern and, where the breach can be remedied, give them 20 business days to remedy it.

6.3 Where a breach is serious (for example, risk of harm to a Client, dishonesty or unlawful conduct), we may suspend the listing immediately while we review the matter.

6.4 If the breach is not remedied, or cannot be remedied, we may remove the Practitioner from the Website. Their Subscription will then be terminated, no further debit orders will be processed, and any refund due is dealt with under our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

7. Payments

7.1 Payments are processed securely by Payfast, a third-party payment gateway. We do not see or store your full card details.

7.2 Recurring Subscriptions are collected automatically in advance, on the same date each month (monthly billing) or each year (annual billing), using the payment method you authorise at signup.

7.3 If a payment fails, Payfast will automatically try again (currently up to 5 attempts over 5 days) and you will be notified. If the payment still fails, Payfast pauses the subscription and we may suspend your listing until you update your payment details and the amount due is paid.

7.4 You can view your payment history in your account or request a statement from shanne@lightcollectiv.com. Payfast also emails a receipt for each transaction.

7.5 Currencies. Our prices are set in South African Rand (ZAR). Through Payfast’s Multi-Currency Pricing you may choose to pay in another currency, such as USD, EUR, GBP or AUD. Payfast converts the ZAR price at its exchange rate on the day of each payment and shows you the amount before you confirm. Because exchange rates change, the amount charged in your currency may differ from month to month, even though the ZAR price stays the same. Your bank may also charge foreign transaction fees, which are your responsibility.

8. Using the Website

You agree not to: provide false information; impersonate anyone; post unlawful, offensive or misleading content; copy or scrape Website content; or interfere with the Website’s security or operation. We may suspend accounts that do so.

9. Intellectual property

All Website content, branding and the LightCollectiv name belong to us or our licensors. Practitioners keep ownership of the content they upload but give us a non-exclusive licence to display and promote it on the Website and our social media for the duration of their Subscription.

10. Privacy

We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and our Privacy Policy.

11. Limitation of liability

11.1 To the extent the law allows, LightCollectiv is not liable for any loss arising from: services provided by Practitioners; reliance on Website content; or the Website being temporarily unavailable.

11.2 Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or ECTA, or our liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

12. Disputes

Please contact us first at shanne@lightcollectiv.com so that we can try to resolve any complaint. If it is not resolved within 20 business days, either party may refer it to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, the National Consumer Commission, or a competent South African court.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Website and notify subscribed Practitioners by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Changes do not affect a Subscription Term already running, unless you agree.

14. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including for Practitioners and

Users based outside South Africa. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force. These Terms are written in plain language as the CPA requires; if anything is unclear, contact us at shanne@lightcollectiv.com.
